How it works
Renting image, drone or DJ gear from Fox Rider takes five steps. No quote, no paperwork: choose, book, receive, create, send back.
1. Choose your gear
Browse the catalogue of cameras, drones and DJ turntables. Every product page shows the price per duration, the security deposit amount and the available accessories.
2. Book your dates
Select your rental dates and your options. The total price is shown in plain sight; the security deposit, separate from the rental price, is charged at the time of order then refunded when the gear comes back. Secure payment by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or bank transfer.
3. Receive or collect
Chronopost shipping the day before your first day (next-day delivery in mainland France), or Click&Collect in Lyon. Tracking number sent as soon as it ships. Sound gear (DJ turntables) is collection in Lyon only: it is not shipped.
4. Film, fly, mix
The gear arrives checked and ready to use, with its inventory sheet. You have 24 hours to report anything wrong. Then it is over to your project.
5. Send it back
On the last day, put everything back in the reusable parcel, stick on the prepaid Chronopost return label and drop it at a pickup point. The security deposit is refunded within 5 working days after the return and inspection of the gear.
Frequently asked questions
Everything worth knowing before you book.
How does the security deposit work?
The security deposit is separate from the rental price and is a single amount per product: cameras €100 to €150 depending on the model, drones €150 (DJI Mini 4 Pro) or €250 (DJI Mini 5 Pro), DJ gear €250. For cameras and drones it is charged at the time of order then refunded within 5 working days after the return and inspection of the gear; for DJ gear it is paid on site at handover and returned when the gear comes back.
What are the delivery times?
The gear ships the day before your first rental day via Chronopost, for express next-day delivery in mainland France. You can also collect your order via Click&Collect in Lyon. Sound gear (DJ turntables) is the exception: it is not shipped and is collected in person in Lyon.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Bank card, Apple Pay and Google Pay through Revolut, instant bank transfer, or payment by link, whichever you choose when ordering. Payment is settled in full at booking.
Is the gear insured?
Yes. For cameras and drones, damage and theft insurance is included in the rental price, with no option or surcharge. For DJ gear it is billed separately (€5 per day, capped at €75), on a dedicated line that does not reduce the security deposit. In the event of a covered claim, the deposit you remain liable for is €100 to €150 for a camera, €150 to €250 for a drone, €250 for DJ gear. The details are in our Terms and Conditions of Rental.
Do I have to register to fly a drone?
Yes. Even for a drone under 250 g fitted with a camera, registering as a UAS operator on AlphaTango is mandatory to fly in the European zone. During the rental you are the operator: you put your number on the aircraft. Everything is set out in our Terms and Conditions of Rental.
Can I extend my rental?
Yes. Any extension must be requested at least 48 hours before the planned end date, by email to head@fox-rider.com, and is invoiced additionally at the going rate.
What happens if the carrier is late?
Fox Rider cannot be held responsible for delays caused by Chronopost. For a date that cannot move (event, shoot), we advise building a spare day into your rental dates.
