The heart of the city: superb, and largely closed to leisure flights
We might as well say it frankly: the three postcards that everyone has in mind are not leisure spots. The Parc de la Tête d’Or, where the raking light of daybreak outlines the paths and lights up the reflections of the lake; Fourvière and Vieux Lyon, whose tiled roofs and Saint-Jean Cathedral call for the ascending tracking shot which reveals the city below; the banks of the Rhône finally, made for the low altitude tracking shot along the quays at golden hour. Alpine lakes: reflections and turquoise waters
An hour or two's drive away, the lakes offer some of the most beautiful aerial images in the region.
- Lake Annecy: clear waters, mountains in the background, villages along the water. Fly early in the morning for a mirror-smooth surface. Several areas are restricted around the city, to be checked beforehand.
