Which device for which plan: the 2026 table
Choose the plan first, then the device: this is the only rule that avoids renting a box that will not do what you had in mind. The two tables below put five devices and the ten plans that are most often requested face to face, with what each device does better than the others and the trap specific to each combination.

The current price of each device is shown on its product page, breakage and theft insurance included. It serves as a benchmark, not a budget: from two days onwards, the grid becomes decreasing and the gap between two devices narrows.
Two couples who seem interchangeable and are not
X5 and X6 both film the entire sphere in 8K. The difference is in frame rate — 30 frames per second versus 50 — which is visible when cropping a fast-moving subject and in slow motion, not in a still shot. For a wedding or a meal, the X5 does the same job.
HERO 12 Black and Pocket 4P are even less alike than it seems: the first is made to be fixed somewhere and take a beating, the second to be held by hand and framed neatly. Choosing the wrong one means ending up with a waterproof case attached to a helmet to film an interview, or a gimbal exposed to the rain.

Three shots that none of these five devices do well
Portraiture with heavily blurred backgrounds remains the domain of cameras with large sensors and bright lenses: none of these cameras produce it convincingly. Neither does the clean sound of a windy outdoor interview: you need a dedicated mic, whatever the camera. Finally, the wide night shot without any light source does not make up for it in terms of definition or stabilization.

How to read this table before booking
Three elements decide the budget once the device has been chosen. The duration, first: from 1 to 62 days per reference, with a decreasing price of which the details are published. Then the deductible, which is worth €100, 150, 200 or €250 depending on the reference, with breakage and theft insurance being included in the price of cameras and drones. Finally, the delivery method, between collection in Lyon and shipping.
