Why there is no American test for Mini 5 Pro

You're looking for a review of the DJI Mini 5 Pro or Osmo Pocket 4P, and you come across unboxings, "first impressions" and lots of replays of the spec sheet. It's not your request that's bad: these devices are not sold in the United States, that is to say in the market where most of the online video reviews come from.

Two devices absent from the biggest critical market

The Mini 5 Pro is not officially distributed in the United States. The Osmo Pocket 4P, launched globally on July 30, 2026, is available in Canada, Europe, the United Kingdom and Australia — not the United States. According to DroneDJ, this absence is due to the inclusion of DJI on the FCC's Covered List.

However, the video tests that you come across when searching in English come mostly from North American creators, who receive the products before their release. No product on the market, no testing.

What really exists, and what it's worth

To be specific about what we ourselves were able to read at the time of writing these lines:

• Osmo Pocket 4P : “First impressions” published by DroneDJ on July 30, 2026. Useful, but these are impressions, not a test protocol.
• Insta360 X6 : a review partially accessible at Digital Camera World, published a few days after the release - and an assertion of which is denied by the official sheet, since it speaks of "1 inch" sensors where Insta360 announces 1/1.1 inch.
• Mini 5 Pro : No full independent testing.

We did not find any French test for X6. Direct consequence, and we must accept it: no one can seriously tell you today how these devices behave in prolonged use — heating, reliability, durability. Us neither, and we're not going to pretend.

How to form an opinion anyway

1. Read the official sheets, and be wary of repetitions. A good part of the errors that circulate come from the press, not from the manufacturers: the “1 inch sensor” lent to the X6, the “3× optical zoom” lent to the Pocket 4P which DJI does not write anywhere.
2. Look for what the manufacturer writes in small letters. DJI publishes a “typical” autonomy next to its maximum autonomy; Insta360 specifies the temperature at which it measures. These lines say more than an opinion.
3. Locate what is not said. On the Pocket 4P, compatibility with wireless microphones does not appear in any manufacturer's document. A function missing from the data sheet is not a discrete function, it is an unpromised function.
4. Take the camera for three days. On your shots, your light, your editing. This is the only data that really concerns you.

A lessor has an obvious interest in you renting, and it would be dishonest to hide it. But the argument stands on its own: on devices released in July and August 2026, the test remains the only first-hand information available. We prefer to tell you what we don't know and let you check for yourself.
