Across these 73 rentals billed between 7 June and 13 August 2026, the average is 9.3 days and the median 7 days. The most requested duration, though, is 3 days: 12 rentals out of 73. Put another way, one rental in six goes out for three days, while one in two goes out for seven days or more. Those who book three days are therefore picking a duration well below what most people choose — and that is rarely the right call.

Why three days is rarely the right choice

Our rates taper on the total duration, and the third day is the last expensive day. Past that band, every additional day weighs far less.

In practice, across every camera and drone we rent, going from three days to seven adds four days of use for less than the price of a single stand-alone day. On the GoPro HERO 11 Black, the GoPro HERO 12 Black, the Insta360 X4 and the Fujifilm instax WIDE Evo, those four days cost less than half a stand-alone day. The calendar on the product page shows both totals as soon as you enter dates: compare them before you decide.

And it keeps going beyond that: between the eighth and the fourteenth day, each additional day comes to less than a fifth of a single stand-alone day. That is why the median of our orders sits at seven days rather than three. The rules that build the rate are set out in our article on the five rules behind the price.

Three devices where the second day is free

On the GoPro HERO 11 Black, the Insta360 X4 and the Fujifilm instax WIDE Evo, one day and two days are billed at the same amount: the band does not move. If you are torn between those two durations on those three models, there is nothing to weigh up — take the two days.

How many days for which project

• A dated event — wedding, race, concert: four days rather than three. The parcel is delivered the day before the first rented day, but starting the rental the day before the event leaves you an evening to charge batteries, format the card and get to know the device without an audience.
• A holiday: the length of the trip, plus one day. The last rented day is the day the return parcel must be dropped off, not the day you get home.
• A trip or a drone road trip: our customers land around ten days on the Mini 4 Pro and twelve on the Mini 5 Pro, and the taper proves them right.
• DJ gear: seven days maximum, collected in person in Lyon only. The taper stops there at the third day — going longer brings no pricing advantage.

The overall cap is 62 days for cameras and drones.

The two days that are not shooting days

This is the most common mistake. Your rental starts on the first day you picked and ends on the last day inclusive, the date on which the return parcel must be dropped off at a pickup point. If you book Saturday to Monday for a weekend, Monday is a logistics day, not a shooting day. Booking one more day is charged at the tapered rate for the total duration, never at the price of a stand-alone day; missing the Sunday costs you the whole weekend.

If you got it wrong

Up to 72 hours before the rental starts, you can move your dates or extend from your customer account, subject to availability. An extension is billed at the tapered rate for the total duration — ten days plus one gives you the eleven-day band, not the ten-day band plus a full day.
