Insta360 X6: standard pack or creator pack?

4 min readL'équipe Fox Rider

Upon purchase, the difference is clear: 699 € for the standard pack of Insta360 X6, 848 € for the creator pack, i.e. 149 € difference. In rental, the question does not arise in the same terms, because part of what justifies the designer pack from the manufacturer is already included in the price of our Insta360 rentals, at no extra cost. Here’s how to read the two offers; the X6 has been in the catalog since 27 August 2026.

The two prices, and what they cover

Insta360 sells the X6 released on August 12, 2026 in two configurations: a standard pack for €699 and a creator pack for €848. Both feature the same 360 camera, the same 8K capture at 50 frames per second, the same touch screen, and are available in black and white. The difference is in the accessories delivered in the box, not in the device.

This is exactly why a creator pack is profitable when you buy and questionable when you rent: you pay once for equipment that you will keep for years, versus a few days of use. On the rental side, only the standard pack is in the catalog: its sheet is open, with the current rate, a €200 security deposit and details of the package accessory by accessory. The three accessories that make up the creator pack at Insta360 are all found in our rental, but differently: the remote control kit for the foldable selfie stick is included, the Mic Pro microphone is optional, and the Xtreme battery being that of the camera, a second is added as an option.

Another way to read this €149: it's roughly the price of two three-day rentals of our Insta360 X5, current rate on its product page. The difference between the two packs is therefore worth two full weekends of filming, memory card and pole included. If you're on the fence about financing the top package, the question becomes simpler: Do you prefer accessories you might use, or two shoots you'll definitely do?

Six accessories are already included, whatever the pack

Any rental of a Insta360 camera from us leaves with the same base, charged zero euros. This is not an option to check, it is what is in the package.

Invisible selfie stick 1.10 mThe signature shot of the 360: the software erases the handle on render

This 1 m 10 pole deserves a word: it is this which produces the flying camera effect, because the software erases the handle at the time of rendering. If you have never done the gesture, our how to use the invisible pole explains it in two minutes.

The extras that really change a shoot

Rather than paying more for a pack, the right question when renting is: what accessory is missing from your shoot. Our Insta360 supplements are chosen individually, for the duration of the rental, at the rate given on the product page.

  • Telescopic pole 3 m: the distance that no short pole gives, for group shots and overhead shots.
  • PRO invisible diving protection 60 m: essential whenever there is water, and cannot be replaced by a generic housing.
  • Ski attachment for pole, bicycle or motorcycle clamp, harness: the binding decides the plan, much more than the housing.
  • Extra battery: the real limiting factor for a day in 8K 50 fps.
  • Helmet attachment: this is a consumable, the adhesive does not rest.

How to decide, concretely

Take the simplest pack if you're filming with a pole, with family or while traveling: the included base covers what you need and you add two or three mounts for a few euros. Look at the top pack if you're shooting multiple days, selling the video, or want to test exactly the setup you're considering buying — that's the subject of our article testing a X6 before you buy.

A guideline to decide without making a fuss: count the days of filming actually planned in the next twelve months. Below ten, renting a simple pack covers the need. Above that, it’s the purchase that you have to consider – and it’s only then that the question of the creator pack becomes the right question again.

And if the X6 dates are already taken, the question is quickly settled: the Insta360 X5 is rentable today with this same base of accessories, the Insta360 X4 too, with a deposit of 100 € instead of 150 € on the X5.

For the practical side — deposit, duration, pickup in Lyon or delivery — it is all gathered in Rent a Insta360 X6 in Lyon: instructions for use.
