Rent a Insta360 X6 in Lyon: instructions for use

In Lyon, collecting a rented camera from us costs nothing: collection in person in Lyon 3 is €0, and the return to the same place as well. If you prefer to be delivered, four options exist depending on the time you want the package the day before. The Insta360 X6 has been in the catalog since 27 August 2026; the instructions below apply to all our cameras.

The four ways to recover the material

The common point of all the delivered formulas: the package arrives the day before the first day of rental, not the same morning. So you have one evening to open, load and get to grips with the device before filming begins.

The calculation is quickly done for a Lyonnais: between free collection and the fastest home delivery, the difference is €25 on the way out and €6 on the return if you choose shipping. On a three-day rental, those €31 weigh heavily on the total; on a one-month rental, far less.

When to book, and why the day before matters

Delivery the day before assumes that the package leaves on time, so that the order is placed with a margin - two working days before the first day of rental is a reasonable benchmark, more if your slot starts on a Monday, the shipment does not circulate on Sunday. The withdrawal from Lyon 3 completely escapes this constraint: it is based on an appointment, not on a carrier tour.

This flexibility counts especially on the busiest Lyon dates. The Festival of Lights, at the beginning of December, concentrates in four evenings a demand for video material that the rest of the year does not experience; the wedding season, from May to September, saturates the weekends. For these slots, booking two to three weeks in advance is not excessive caution.

The return, and what we check

Two possibilities: return the equipment by hand to Lyon 3, for €0, or ship it for €6. In both cases, the package leaves complete – memory card, batteries, chargers, pole and case, each element having been checked at the start.

The inspection upon receipt concerns this inventory and the condition of the equipment, in particular the two lenses of a 360 camera, which are its most exposed part. We have described the procedure point by point in what we check on return.

The deposit, without unpleasant surprises

It is blocked, not cashed, at the time of booking, and returned in full within five working days after return and inspection. There are only four amounts in our entire catalog, based on the replacement value: €100, 150, 200 or €250. Our 360 cameras are €100 for the Insta360 X4 , €150 for the Insta360 X5 and €200 for the Insta360 X6 . The details of the grid are published in our article on the security deposit.

The calendar, if your shoot is in Lyon

Three situations, three responses. X6 dates already taken: take the X5, available and free to collect. Shoot coming up: sheet for X6 is open, book your dates now and plan for collection rather than delivery, the first few days of a new model being the most in demand. Long filming: our rentals go for up to 62 consecutive days, with a decreasing rate — every duration has its own tier, and the amount shown on the product page is a total, not a price per day.

One last useful thing for Lyon residents: collecting them in person allows them to ask questions that no page replaces, and to leave with the device already configured. This is particularly true for a 360 camera, whose cropping logic can be understood in two minutes of demonstration and ten minutes of reading.

A numerical example to finish deciding. Picked up and returned by hand to Lyon 3, a rental costs only the rate shown on the product page, period. Delivered to your home the day before 10 a.m. then returned by carrier, you must add €25 and €6, or €31 for the same equipment and the same dates.
