Insta360 X6: questions before renting

The Insta360 X6 has been in our rental catalog since 27 August 2026. Here are the questions we're already being asked, with short answers — and an honest answer when we don't know yet.
Availability and duration
When can I rent it?
Since Thursday, 27 August 2026. The camera was released by the manufacturer on 12 August 2026; our unit reached the fleet on that date.
Can I book September dates today?
Yes. The sheet for X6 is open and its calendar shows the dates still free: so book now, September included.
How long can I keep it?
Our camera rentals go for up to 62 consecutive days. Beyond that, online reservations cannot be made: you must write to us.
What if the arrival is delayed?
The cancellation is then our fault, and the refund is full - the €10 deduction only applies to cancellations at your initiative. No rental starts on equipment that is not in the park and controlled: an advertised camera is not a camera on the shelves, and a failed shoot cannot be made up for.

Price and deposit
How much does it cost to rent?
The price is not a daily rate multiplied by the number of days: it is a total amount per duration, and it tapers off — the longer you keep the camera, the less each day costs. The full scale, one amount per duration up to 62 days, damage and theft insurance included, is on the X6 product page, which is the reference.
What about the deposit?
€200. Our deposits only have four levels – €100, €150, €200 or €250 depending on the value of the device – and the X6 ranks one notch above the X5, which stays at €150, the X4 at €100. A deposit is blocked, not cashed, and returned in full upon return.

What's in the package
What is included in the price?
The same base as for all our Insta360 cameras, at zero euros: SanDisk Extreme 1 TB microSD card, 1 m 10 telescopic pole, battery, dual charger, 25 W fast charger and rigid carrying case.
Can I add accessories?
Yes, individually and for the entire duration: 3 m pole for €2, 60 m invisible diving protection for €3, bicycle or motorcycle clamp for €2, ski attachment for €2, additional battery for €2, helmet attachment for €5 because it is a consumable.
Can I choose the color?
The manufacturer offers the X6 in black and white. When renting, the color of the case is not reserved - it does not change anything in the image or in operation.
Should you bring a memory card?
No, and it is even not recommended. The included 1TB SanDisk Extreme card is sized for high definition at 50 frames per second; a card that is too slow cuts the recording in full sequence, without warning. Just remember to collect your files before returning the package: the card leaves with the device.

Delivery, collection, return
How do I get it back?
Four possibilities: Click and Collect collection in Lyon 3 for €0, collection point the day before 1 p.m. for €6, or home delivery the day before for €20 before 6 p.m., €22 before 1 p.m. and €25 before 10 a.m.
What about the return?
Return by hand to Lyon 3 for €0, or return shipping for €6. What we check upon receipt is detailed in our article on return control.
Can I rent two cameras at the same time?
Yes. Each device can be reserved separately, on its own dates, and comes with its own accessory base. This is the most common setup for a wedding or sporting event, where one fixed point of view and one moving point of view are better than a single, perfectly placed camera.
Two questions whose answer is no
Have you tested it?
No, and we won't write it until it's false. Our unit reached the fleet on 27 August 2026: everything you read here about the X6 comes from the manufacturer, everything about prices and the package comes from our catalog.
Do you need a computer to edit?
No. Cropping a 360 video is done very well from a phone, as we show in this editing tutorial with the application. A computer becomes useful for more than ten shots, or for very high definition export.
If the X6 dates are already taken, the Insta360 X5 and the Insta360 X4 have the same uses, with the same accessory base.
For the practical side — deposit, duration, pickup in Lyon or delivery — it is all gathered in Rent a Insta360 X6 in Lyon: instructions for use.

The amount lives on the product page. What the page does not explain: how it is built, why one long booking beats several short ones, and how many weeks of filming it takes before buying overtakes renting.
