Reserve a new product before its release: instructions for use

Yes, you can reserve a reference who is not yet at the park: simply choose dates after their arrival — that is how the Insta360 X6 and the DJI Osmo Pocket 4P were booked before they reached the fleet on 27 August 2026. The calendar simply does not offer earlier days. Unavailability is included in the bookable dates, not in a warning message that could be ignored.

The first date that the calendar will offer you

In shipping, the first possible rental day is never the day after the order. The rule is: dispatch the next business day, delivery the next day, and never on a Sunday. An order placed on a Saturday therefore leaves on Monday and the rental begins on Tuesday. A collection on site in Lyon is not affected by this delay.

For delivery outside France, the first date moves back another day: delivery takes 24 hours more on the outward and return journeys. This delay comes from our internal shipping rule, not from a carrier commitment.

What your reservation really holds

A rental doesn’t just take up your filming days. It also takes up the delivery days surrounding it: preparation and travel before collection, return and control after return. This stamp is worth 2 days in France and 3 days for shipping abroad.

The consequence is direct on a reference held in a single copy, which is the case for a new arrival: each reservation blocks the extended period, not just your dates. On a weekend in high demand, booking two weeks in advance or two days in advance does not give the same chances at all.

If the shipment slips

This is the question that gets asked most often: what happens if the material doesn't arrive on the announced date? Answer: the cancellation is then our fault, and the refund is full. The fixed deduction of €10 for bank charges, provided for in article 3.3 bis of the rental conditions, does not apply in this case - it only targets cancellation at the initiative of the tenant, and extending it to a failure of the lessor would make it an unfair clause within the meaning of article L.212-1 of the Consumer Code.

If you are the one canceling, however, this €10 deduction applies to the refund: it corresponds to the fees that the payment provider retains on the initial transaction, even if refunded.

What happens between your reservation and the arrival at the park

Nothing you have to watch out for. Your slot is held upon ordering, like any reservation: it is not a waiting list or pre-registration, and there is no additional confirmation to be given in the meantime. The material is purchased and its delivery is firm - this is the only reason why we write a date rather than "soon".

A practical consequence follows from this: the closer the arrival date approaches, the fewer free slots remain in the first weeks, and these are precisely the ones that everyone is aiming for. If your dates are essential - a wedding, a trip, an ordered shoot -, booking two months in advance does not cost more than a last minute reservation, the price list only depends on the duration.

This is the criterion that technical sheet comparisons always ignore, and it weighs as much as an image definition: availability. On a reference installed for a long time at the park, like the Insta360 X5 or the Insta360 X4 , a slot is still a few days from a departure. On a new product with a single copy and requested by everyone on the same dates – school holidays and long weekends in mind – this margin does not exist.

Three reflexes before validating your dates

These three points come up in almost all the messages we receive after a first reservation. They fit in three lines and avoid the unpleasant surprise of the first morning.

1. Count the day of receipt as a rental day: the package arrives during the day, not at dawn. If your shoot starts early on Saturday, have it delivered on Friday.
2. Aim for a return on a working day, so that the inspection is carried out the same day and the excess is released without waiting for Monday.
3. Check the excess on the form before paying: this is the only amount that does not appear in the displayed price of the basket.
